“Never go on trips with anyone you do not love.” – Hemmingway

Welcome to our travel blog, where we, Natalie and Arran, share our passion for exploring the world, tasting its culinary delights, and sipping on its finest (and sometimes just cheapest) wines. Based in Glasgow at the heart of Scotland, we are a couple driven by a love of adventure, food, and drink. Through our website, we aim to inspire fellow travellers, sharing our own adventures past, present and future. We will plan hypothetical trips, help plan your trips into reality and share enchanting stories from our journeys and those of our clients.

Our Story

Our first international trip together was to Italy, where we wandered through the romantic streets of Florence, tasted exquisite wines in Tuscany, and indulged in the culinary delights of both Florence and Viareggio. This trip ignited a spark in us, and we realised that travelling, tasting new foods, and experiencing different cultures were what we wanted to spend our hard earned money on.

Balancing this love of food and travel is always a challenge as we suffer several food bourne allergies, however we find this just makes finding that special little Ristorante or hidden gem that can cater to our needs even more special.

We married in 2022 after being together for over a decade. We have experienced many different holidays from relaxing all-inclusives, jam packed city breaks, exciting cruises and cultural tours.

Sadly we don’t have any children ourselves. However, we pour our love into the children within our family and friends. We enjoy getting to play the fun aunt and uncle, keeping us feeling youthful as we venture into our mid thirties.

Travel Planning and Storytelling

One of our greatest joys is helping others plan their own adventures. Through our blog, we offer detailed travel itineraries, tips on finding the best food and wine spots, and advice on making the most of every trip. Whether it’s a romantic getaway in the Italian countryside, an adventurous cruise up the picturesque Norwegian Fjords, or a cultural immersion in the streets of Singapore, we are here to help you dream, plan, and execute the perfect journey.

Our storytelling doesn’t stop with our own travels. We love sharing stories from our readers, showcasing their unique experiences and the magic they find in their journeys. From honeymooners discovering the charms of Paris to solo travellers conquering the peaks of the Andes, these tales inspire and connect us all.

Natalie

Following the covid pandemic and family sorrow that occurred in the following years, I am very much of the attitude that we only get one life and never know what is going to happen tomorrow so want to try and experience as much as possible.

For me that means travelling the world and seeing as many beautiful sites (and sights) as I can! I know that I can’t possibly do everything, so I wanted to set up the blog to not only take notes on places that we could go, working through my thought process of what is important for us, but also share it with you, so you might find joy whilst navigating this wonderful world too.

Arran spent a lot of his childhood going on adventures with his family whilst I spent a fortnight in Majorca every summer whilst my dad basked in the sun, healing from the arduous night shifts.

So when we went to plan our first holiday together it was funny to find that we wanted opposites to what we had always experienced. I am always still trying to find this balance when planning holidays.

Also balancing the fact that we may love the sun, but the sun doesn’t necessarily love my freckles and Arran’s bald head!

Arran

As a lover of a well planned budget. I keep Natalie grounded emotionally and financially on a day-to-day basis so that when the holidays come around we can take flight and Natalie’s dreams with it.

I am certainly more of a go with the flow traveller, my skills on our travels really shine when Natalie’s well planned trips go awry due to nature, humans or just sheer craziness! I’ll whip out the travel dad and find us a ticket on a train at 4am to replace the flight we just missed due to mechanical faults.

I love hearing what exciting gems Natalie has found. I’m hoping you might also enjoy some of these finds and incorporate them into your next trip!

What we are not

I am afraid to say, we’re not backpacking, stay in hostels and find the most budget travel accommodation kind of people.

Unfortunately between Natalie’s Fybromyalgia and Our shared food intolerance issues we both appreciate a comfortable and private place to return to at the end or middle of a long day!

We are not influencer fabulous. We are a hot sweaty mess, covered in mosquito bites but having fun exploring! We’re keen to document the real sides of travel and not make everything look and seem, rosy!

Offering a real look into travel told from our own perspective and from our own opinions.

We spend time documenting our stories and finding content for our blogs that we think is appropriate or useful. We write our blogs, we don’t have any robots or AI do that for us, where would the fun in that be; we want you to come back for us, not some AI generated nonsense.
